A1. Chris Carrier ft Hector Moralez – Galactical Dance Mate
A2. Djebali & Chris Carrier – Battlestar
B1. Djebali Remix – Galactical Dance Mate
A long-standing example of Parisian cream of the crop, Chris Carrier’s productions have continued to be consistently relevant and admired throughout the 15 years of his career. Also known for his label Adult Only, Carrier has picked up the sounds of Dyed Soundorom to Einzelkind and collaborated with the likes of Phil Weeks, Dan Ghenacia and Chez Damier. For the next release, he calls on the talents of a fresh-faced, fellow Parisian, who looks set to be as fruitful as the label boss himself.
Djebali is part of a new wave of local talent, jointly responsible for reigniting global interest in the French underground sound. In the space of two years he’s rapidly risen up a cult-following of the vinyl-only label ( djebali ), a platform for solely his music, becoming more in demand and respected with every release. He now joins forces with Carrier on AO042, both as remixer and co-producer.
‘Galactical Dance Mate’ allows Carrier to kick off and show us what he’s got – a warm and rounded house track featuring irresistible jazzy snippets and a cameo from good friend Hector Moralez, the alienized voice on the mic. Into the joint effort ‘Battlestar’, the pair continue on an intergalactic note with a peak-timer full of futuristic analogue effects, cosmically set for dance floor detonation. Rounding off the package is Djebali’s remix of A1, a more frenzied, oscillating approach to the original, adding in a crawling bassline and a solid clap, he holds back the warmth until a few melting moments at the end.
